Shared vs Dedicated IP
Shared IPs pool reputation across multiple senders. Dedicated IPs isolate reputation but require enough consistent volume to build and maintain trust.
Use shared IPs when
- Volume is low or irregular.
- You are still validating product-market messaging.
- You do not have a reputation operations owner.
Use dedicated IPs when
- Volume is high and consistent.
- You need reputation isolation.
- You can warm up gradually.
- You monitor bounce, complaint, and delay metrics.
Dedicated IPs are not a shortcut for poor list quality or weak authentication.
